Open this screen in the panelE-E-A-T stands for Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness and Trust. It's the framework in the guidelines Google gives its quality raters. It isn't a single measured ranking factor; it summarises the qualities Google's systems try to reward. Of the four, trust carries the most weight.
| Dimension | Question |
|---|---|
| Experience | Has the author lived the topic first-hand? |
| Expertise | Is there command of the subject, depth and accuracy? |
| Authoritativeness | Are the site and author a recognised source on this topic? |
| Trust | Is it clear who you are, how to reach you and what your policies are? |
Why it matters
- For "your money or your life" topics such as health, finance and law, Google expects much higher quality.
- AI assistants and AI Overviews also favour pages with clear authors, dates and company information when choosing sources.
Where you see it in SEOAsist
The Content & AI → E-E-A-T tab shows two scores:
- Site trust signals: about, contact, privacy and terms pages, Organization and Article schema, author pages, a blog section and HTTPS; from the last crawl, out of 100.
- Content quality score: 10 checks for every crawled page (answer first, structure, question headings, depth, structured data, date, author…). Send weak pages to the studio with Expand.
Every article and page update produced in the studio is scored with the 12-check E-E-A-T score before publishing. More: Content studio.
Example
A short author line at the end of a blog post signals trust and expertise:

By Jane Doe, interior architect for 12 years ·
Updated: 17 October 2026

Common mistakes
- Treating E-E-A-T as "add an author box and you're done"; the content itself must show experience.
- Writing a one-line about page, or making it a copy of the contact page.
- Never showing publish and update dates.

- What is structured data (schema)?Structured data is machine-readable markup, based on the schema.org vocabulary, that tells search engines what the information on a page actually is.
- What is thin content?Thin content is page content that doesn't adequately answer the user's question: very short, or without original value.
