Accept audit issues as intentional and fix them automatically
How to mark issues you left on purpose as Intentional, undo that, and fix issues automatically with rules or a GitHub pull request.
Open this screen in the panelNot every technical issue is a mistake. You may have left an empty category page on noindex on purpose. Mark those cases as Intentional, and close the real problems in a few clicks with Auto-fix or Fix with AI. All of these buttons live in the issue detail panel on the Technical Audit page.
Prerequisites
- A single site is selected in the site selector at the top. The buttons don't appear in the All sites view.
- You have edit permission in the workspace.
- The site has been crawled at least once.
Accept an issue as intentional
- On the Technical Audit page, click the issue name; the detail panel opens.
- Click Intentional.
- Optionally enter a note in the dialog (e.g. "empty categories, open when products are added") and confirm.
- A "… URLs accepted as intentional" toast appears and the score and analysis are recalculated right away.
The rule covers every URL listed in the detail panel. If no URL is listed at that moment, it applies to the whole site. Crawls stop reporting the issue and it no longer lowers the health score.
Marking an issue as intentional doesn't fix it; it only stops it from being reported. Before muting a critical issue, make sure it really is deliberate.
The accepted list and undo
Issues you mark appear in the Accepted as intentional card at the bottom of the page. Each row shows the issue, the URL (or Whole site), your note and the source: manual for ones you marked yourself, from AI answer for ones accepted while reviewing an AI answer.
- Find the row you want to remove.
- Click Undo.
- The issue is re-evaluated and counted again from the next crawl.
Auto-fix: instant fixes through rules
Auto-fix fixes the issue on your site without touching code. SEOAsist creates fix rules for the affected pages and applies them to the site. The button only appears when the site has one of these channels ready: a Site API connection that supports rules, a connected WordPress plugin, or an installed Pixel.
Supported issues and what gets fixed:
| Issue | Fix |
|---|---|
| Title missing, too long, too short or duplicate | AI writes a unique 50-60 character title per page |
| Meta description missing, over 160 characters or duplicate | AI writes a unique 120-155 character description per page |
| No canonical / canonical points to another page | A self-referencing canonical is added |
| No html lang | lang is set from the site's language setting |
| noindex | The robots value becomes index,follow |
- Click Auto-fix in the detail panel.
- Confirm "Create and apply fix rules for the affected pages (up to 40)?".
- The rules are sent to the site and a verification crawl starts automatically.
Running it again for the same issue replaces the previous rules. Each run fixes up to 40 pages; if there are more, run it again after the crawl finishes.
For issues such as image alt text, Open Graph or structured data, the detail panel shows an Add Pixel rule link. It opens the add-rule dialog on the site's Pixel tab, preset for that issue.
Fix with AI: a GitHub pull request
Fix with AI lets the AI model you pick inspect the site's GitHub repository, fix the root cause in code and open a pull request. Nothing goes live until you merge the PR.
Prerequisites (hover the button to see what's missing):
- The site's GitHub repository is connected on the Sites page.
- A GitHub token is added on the Integrations page.
- An AI model is available under Integrations → AI.
- Pick a model from the list next to the button in the detail panel.
- Click Fix with AI. A "Fix started" toast appears.
- The model inspects the repository; you're notified when the PR opens (usually 1-5 minutes).
- Track the job in the AI fixes card at the bottom: Queued, Model running…, Done or Failed.
- Use Open pull request to review and merge the change on GitHub.
You can't start a new fix for an issue while one is already running for it.
Verify
- An issue you marked as intentional disappears from the list and shows up in the Accepted as intentional card.
- After Auto-fix, the page count for the issue drops once the verification crawl finishes.
- After Fix with AI, merge the PR and start a new crawl; the issue should close.
FAQ
Does an intentional issue come back on the next crawl?
No. The rule persists across crawls; the crawler doesn't store that issue for those URLs. Use Undo to bring it back.
Does marking an issue as intentional affect the SEO analysis?
Yes. Accepted issues are not counted in the health score, the SEO analysis or workspaces.
Why don't I see the Auto-fix button?
Either the issue isn't one of the supported types or the site has no channel that can apply rules. Connect the Site API or WordPress, or install the Pixel.
What's the difference between Auto-fix and Fix with AI?
Auto-fix applies rules on your site instantly without changing your code. Fix with AI opens a pull request that fixes the code permanently and waits for your approval before going live.
Why do I get "No pages to fix"?
The latest crawl has no fixable pages left for this issue. Start a new crawl to refresh the list.
