Technical Audit: crawls, severities and the issue list

Learn how to start a crawl on the Technical Audit page, filter issues by severity, and view or export the affected URLs as CSV.

Open this screen in the panel

The Technical Audit crawls your site page by page and gathers every technical problem it finds in one list: broken links, missing titles and meta descriptions, redirect chains, noindex pages and more. The site's health score is recalculated at the end of every crawl.

Prerequisites

  • You have added at least one site: Sites.
  • You need edit permission in the workspace to start crawls and see the fix buttons.

Start a crawl

  1. Open the Technical Audit page.
  2. Pick a site in the site selector at the top, or stay on All sites.
  3. Click Crawl this site (when one site is selected) or Crawl all in the top right.
  4. A "Crawl queued" toast appears. The worker visits the sites in turn and you get a notification when it finishes.

If a crawl is already running for that site, you'll see a notice that one is already in progress.

note

If Weekly automatic crawl enabled is checked in the site settings, the site is crawled automatically every Sunday. The Crawl page limit field controls how many pages a crawl visits; the server-side cap is 500 pages.

Severities

The four cards at the top show the issue counts from the latest crawl, grouped by severity:

SeverityWhat it meansExamples
CriticalThe page is unreachable or may drop out of the indexPage unreachable, server error (5xx), broken internal link (4xx), redirect loop, canonical target unreachable
SeriousDirectly affects rankingsMissing title, duplicate title, no H1, multiple H1s, redirect chain, noindex, slow response (> 3 s), canonical points to another page
WarningRoom for improvementMissing meta description or longer than 160 characters, title too long/short, images without alt text, thin content (< 150 words), no canonical, no html lang, no viewport
InfoOptional improvementNo structured data (JSON-LD), missing Open Graph tags, redirected internal link

Click a card to filter the list to that severity; the card shows a · filter tag. Click the same card again to clear the filter.

Read the issue list

Each issue type is one row. The columns are:

  • Issue: the issue name with a short fix hint underneath.
  • Severity: Critical, Serious, Warning or Info.
  • Site: how many sites have the issue.
  • Pages: how many pages are affected.

Click a column header to sort; the default order is by severity. Download CSV above the table exports the list as an Excel-compatible CSV. AI prompt for all builds a ready-to-paste task for ChatGPT, Claude or Cursor covering the listed issues (Info level excluded).

View and export the affected URLs

  1. Click an issue name in the list. A detail panel opens on the right.
  2. The panel shows the issue description, the URL count and, where available, a detail line under each URL.
  3. Click Download URLs to get the full list as CSV with URL, Site and Detail columns.

The first 300 URLs are shown on screen; the CSV has them all. Click the issue name again to close the panel.

The detail panel also holds the Intentional, Auto-fix and Fix with AI buttons. They need a single site to be selected; see Accept issues as intentional and fix them automatically.

Verify

  • The "last crawl" date under the page title is up to date.
  • The Recent crawls table at the bottom lists pages, Critical/Serious/Warning counts, Score and Finished time for each site.

FAQ

The list is empty and says "No completed crawl yet". What should I do?

No crawl has finished yet. Start one from the top right and wait for it to complete. If it takes too long, see Crawl problems.

What does the Score column show?

The site's health score. It is based on the ratio of issues to crawled pages; critical issues lower it the most, info-level ones the least. See SEO score vs. health score.

I fixed an issue. When does it leave the list?

On the next crawl. To see it right away, start a new crawl with Crawl this site.

Why can't I see the fix buttons?

Either the site filter is set to All sites or your account doesn't have edit permission. Select a single site at the top; ask your workspace admin about permissions.
