GEO: measure your visibility in AI assistants
Find out whether assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Grok and Perplexity mention your site: picking engines, prompts, runs, the content score and the AI prompt buttons.
Open this screen in the panelGEO (generative engine optimization) tracks whether AI assistants mention your brand and cite your site in their answers. SEOAsist asks web-search-capable models the questions your users might ask, stores the answers and calculates your Visibility share. Measurements are per site.
Before you start
- On the GEO · AI Visibility page, pick a site in the selector at the top.
- You need at least one search-capable engine: SEOAsist AI included in your plan, or your own OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Grok or Perplexity key. Add keys under Integrations → AI.
- Generate prompts needs Search Console connected. Adding prompts by hand does not.
Pick the engines
In the Prompts card on the Visibility tab, the Engines to query row lists every engine you can use. SEOAsist AI engines carry an included tag; your own keys show under the provider name (one search-capable model per provider).
- Click an engine to turn it on or off. Your choice is saved immediately.
- At least one engine must stay selected.
- A struck-through engine cannot run right now; hover it to see why (for example This month's included AI quota is used up or Your plan has no included AI).
Each run makes "prompts × enabled engines" calls. SEOAsist AI calls count against your plan's monthly included AI quota; your own keys are billed by the provider. See Costs.
Add prompts
Prompts are questions without your brand name that a user might ask an AI assistant.
- Click Generate prompts: 8 natural questions are written from your top Search Console queries (with a template if no AI is available). Questions already on the list are skipped.
- Or type your own question (up to 300 characters) and click Add prompt.
- In the prompts table, use the Enabled switch to include or exclude a prompt from runs. Deleting a prompt also deletes all its answers.
Run
- Click Run now. Enabled prompts are sent to every enabled engine; the job runs in the background.
- After the "Run queued" message appears, refresh the page a few minutes later.
A run uses up to 20 enabled prompts. Sites with enabled prompts are also run automatically every Monday.
Read the results
- Visibility share: the share of answers that mention the brand or cite the site (last 90 days).
- Total answers and Visible answers: successful prompt × model runs, and how many of them were visible.
- Weekly visibility: one bar per week, visible answers / total answers.
- By provider: answers, Brand mentioned, Site cited and Share per engine.
- Recent answers: the full text of each answer (Show answer) and its source links.
- Most cited domains: the sites assistants link to; yours is highlighted as your site.
The Content score (GEO) tab
This tab scores the indexable pages from your latest crawl from 0 to 100 on how ready they are to be cited in AI answers. The score is the sum of the weights of the checks that pass; the The 10 checks and their weights card on the right explains each one (Answer first, Section structure, Question headings, List / table, Depth, Structured data, Date, Author, Title length, Meta description).
If you see a "Re-crawl needed" notice, start a new crawl from Technical Audit. Content signals (H2 structure, lists, date, author, JSON-LD) are collected by new crawls; until then only title, description and word count are scored.
The AI prompt buttons
The buttons on the GEO page build a ready-made prompt you can hand to an assistant or developer to close the gaps:
- AI prompt for invisible questions (Prompts card): for prompts that ran at least once and never got a visible answer. The prompt asks for a page that answers the question directly, or for the most relevant page to be strengthened.
- AI prompt for all (content score table): for pages with failing checks; the icon on a row builds one for that page only.
- AI prompt to fix (brand check): see Brand check.
For how to use the prompt and review the answer, see AI prompt and answer review.
Check that it worked
- The Last run card shows a date and the Recent answers list fills up.
- If an answer failed, its card shows an Error label with the message.
FAQ
Why do I get "No engine is available"?
None of the enabled engines can run. Your SEOAsist AI quota may be used up, or your plan has no included AI. Turn on another engine in the list, or add your own key.
Why is a key I just added switched off in the engine list?
Once you have saved an engine selection, engines added later are not switched on automatically. Click it in the list to turn it on.
Should my prompts include the brand name?
No. The point is to see whether the assistant recommends you when the user does not know your brand. To see how the brand itself is described, use the Brand check.
