Missing Google permissions: Search Console, GA4 and property list

How to fix the “Missing permissions” warning, being unable to create a GA4 property, a Search Console property that isn't listed, or the “could not list” error.

Open this screen in the panel

When you connect a Google account, SEOAsist asks for Search Console, site verification, Analytics (read and edit) and Business Profile permissions. If you untick a box on Google's consent screen, the connection still works but some features don't. Most problems go away once you renew the permissions with every box ticked.

Symptoms

  • On Integrations, the Google card says Missing permissions.
  • The account row shows “no Search Console permission”, “read only · renew permissions to create properties”, “renew permissions to create GA4 properties” or “no refresh token, reconnect”.
  • The site's Search Console & GA4 tab warns that “Creating a property needs Analytics edit permission on the Google account”.
  • Your Search Console property isn't listed. The panel shows the Add / verify a new Search Console property form instead.
  • The GA4 line says “could not list · enable “Google Analytics Admin API” and “Google Analytics Data API” in Google Cloud”.

Fix

  1. On Integrations, open the Google card and click Connect another account / renew permissions. The Refresh Google permissions button on a site's Search Console & GA4 tab does the same.
  2. Pick the Google account that has the problem.
  3. On the consent screen, tick every box: Search Console, site verification, Analytics and Business Profile. Any box you leave unticked turns that feature off.
  4. Back in the panel, the account row should show “read + property management”, and the yellow warning tags should be gone.
  5. Open the site, select the property on the Search Console & GA4 tab and click Save.
tip

With several sites, the Auto-match button on the Sites page links every site whose domain matches a Search Console property in one go.

Still not working?

Why isn't my Search Console property listed?

The list only shows verified properties that a connected Google account can access. The property must also be on the same domain as your site (sc-domain:example.com or https://example.com/; www doesn't matter). Connect a Google account that has access to the property. Any member of your organization can connect it. If the property doesn't exist yet, create it with Add / verify a new Search Console property on the same tab.

What does “could not list” mean?

SEOAsist couldn't get the GA4 property list from Google. Usually the “Google Analytics Admin API” or “Google Analytics Data API” is turned off in the Google Cloud project the connection uses. Renew permissions first. If the warning stays, email destek@seoasist.com.

Why is no Business Profile data coming in?

Local SEO needs the business.manage permission. Tick the Business Profile box when you renew permissions. Your account must also be a manager of the location.

How do I revoke Google access completely?

Remove SEOAsist under Google Account → Security → Third-party access. Data sync stops after that. To use it again, reconnect the account.
