Notification and report emails aren't arriving
If alert, approval or weekly report emails don't reach you, check both recipient lists, the event selection and your spam folder.
Open this screen in the panelSEOAsist uses two separate recipient lists. Notification recipients get event emails such as downtime, index drops and approvals. Report recipients get the weekly SEO reports and workspace reports. If emails don't arrive, first make sure you're looking at the right list.
Symptoms
- The bell icon shows a notification, but no email came.
- The weekly report email didn't arrive on Monday.
- Creating a report shows “E-mail not sent: recipient list is empty.”
Fix
- Open Settings → Notifications. Check that the E-mail box is ticked and that addresses are filled in under Recipients (comma separated).
- In the Events list on the same page, make sure the event you expect is selected. Crawl finished, Ranking change, Report ready and GEO run finished are off by default. Click Save.
- For the weekly report, open the Weekly report card on Reports. Fill in Recipients (comma separated), tick Generate and send the weekly report every Monday at 09:30 and click Save.
- Check your spam and “Promotions” folders. Notification email subjects start with
[SEOAsist]. If you find one, mark the sender as trusted. - On a company address, ask your IT team to allow SEOAsist emails.
Only Owners and Admins can change notification and report recipient settings. If the fields are greyed out, ask an admin.
Still not working?
I see the in-app notification but no email. Why?
In-app notifications are always created. Emails only go out for events selected in the Events list. If the same alert repeats within 12 hours, it isn't sent a second time.
Who gets the workspace reports?
Workspace weekly reports also go to the Recipients list on the Reports page. Each one also gets a share link on the workspace's Reports tab.
Can I share a report without email?
Yes. Create the report on Reports and share its link with Copy. The link is public; print it from your browser for a PDF.
I entered an email in the setup wizard. Where did it go?
Addresses from the wizard's Notifications step become notification recipients. If you ticked “Also send the weekly SEO report to these addresses”, they're saved as report recipients too.
